The Southern Border Military Zone Act
Section 1: Purpose and Findings
The purpose of this Act is to establish a secure military zone along the southern border of the United States, enhancing national security and safeguarding U.S. interests. The findings of Congress include:
- The need for increased security measures along the southern border is essential to protect against potential threats.
- A designated military zone can facilitate operational readiness and efficient response to security challenges.
Section 2: Definitions
For the purposes of this Act:
- “Military zone” refers to a designated area restricted for use by U.S. military personnel.
- “Intrusion” or “trespassing” refers to unauthorized entry into the military zone by any individual or entity.
Section 3: Establishment of the Military Zone
- A military zone, one mile wide, shall be established along the southern U.S. border, extending from the southeasternmost point of Texas (where Texas, Mexico, and the Gulf of Mexico connect) to the southwesternmost point of California (where California, Mexico, and the Pacific Ocean connect).
- The U.S. government shall acquire the necessary land for this military zone.
Section 4: Access and Security Protocols
- Access to the military zone shall be restricted to U.S. military personnel and authorized individuals with the required security clearance.
- Security measures shall be established to monitor and control entry to the military zone.
Section 5: Penalties for Violations
- Any individual found to be intruding or trespassing in the military zone shall be subject to penalties, which may include:
- Fines not exceeding $10,000.
- Imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years, categorized as a violation related to national security.
- Violators may also be subject to additional legal actions as deemed appropriate by military authorities.
- Any violator may be shot on sight if they refuse t cooperate with authorities.
Section 6: Enforcement
- The U.S. Department of Defense shall be responsible for the enforcement of this Act and the security of the military zone.
- Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies shall cooperate in monitoring the zone and addressing violations.
Section 7: Severability
If any provision of this Act is found to be unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.
Section 8: Effective Date
This Act shall take effect immediately upon enactment.
